This large format picture book is in the style of Wimmelbuch, or "teeming book,". The term describes picture books with detailed, busy scenes filled with numerous characters and activities. These books were originally meant to engage children with intricate illustrations that encourage observation and storytelling. Election Day returns to the origins of the Wimmelbuch in Hieronymous Bosch and Pieter Brueghel The Elder, and is intended for an adult audience.
On Election Day in America, people go to the polls to vote for a representative in government. At the end of the day, the votes are counted, and winners are chosen. The representatives lead until the next election day.
